| DESMOND is a comic that is based upon my friend Peter, who occassionally faces discrimination on account of his race. Peter would tell me that he faces discrimination more than occassionally! The first strips that I did were taken from true incidents in Peter's life, which I changed around a bit for comic effect, without losing the initial point. The main characters in the Desmond strips are Desmond, a twenty-something African-American student who also works at a gas station and lives with his sister, Sis, who works in an art supplies store.
