Q: Why won't the rest of the episodes of Barney Miller be released on DVD?
A: This question is the one that I get asked the most, so I'm posting updates on this page as I get them. To date, the only Barney Miller episodes that have been legally * released on DVD is the first season, which was released in January, 2004, (13 episodes), & the second season on January 22, 2008. At this rate, I guess we can expect each season to be released every 4 years.
*There are at present online companies that are offering the complete set of the series on DVD., but it has been found that these sites are alleged to be credit card theft scams.

Dear Mr. Lynton,
Why is it that there has been no release of the second or remaining seasons of the Barney Miller TV Show on DVD?
I receive many mails each month from people asking me when the new seasons will be out on DVD. If Sony has the rights to the Barney Miller show, why have the other seasons not been released on DVD?

Until enough people can get Sony Pictures to release the rest of the shows on DVD (or release the rights to the show) this will have to suffice as far as legal, good-quality DVDs of the show......or, we will just have to enjoy the shows on our old VHS tapes.....or whenever TV Land chooses to run the series again.
